Property Tax Reform Committee

The Property Tax Reform Committee has scheduled its next meeting in Orlando on September 20th. And, there is a web site on which taxpayers can add comments and suggestions.

Under Value Adjustment Board, CPS calls for a penalty when government abuses Due Process rights of taxpayers. Inserting unlawful and unconstitutional barriers to petition for Hearings, failing to train and supervise special magistrates in the laws govering assessments, and adopting local rules and regulations which do not correspond to state law are general areas needing attention.

Do you want to lower your property taxes? Ad valorem taxes are based upon valuation methods, modified by state laws and regulations. CPS knows due process procedures and value applications should be applied to your real and tangible taxes. If you have a question, or need professional services, for a free consultation, contact CPS at 1-305-372-9200 in South Florida, 1-352-245-7441 in Central Florida, or email us at cps1@flash.net.

Actually, having effective and efficient government is good for sustaining property values. It's the abuses by government that cheat taxpayers of their rights, and take extra resources. Like anyone you hire, you have to watch what they are doing, and tell your representatives what you expect.
